Located on Place du Président Roosevelt, La Réserve was born from the restoration of the former Banque de France building, an emblematic edifice of the city, built in 1878 and extended in 1925.
The building retains an architectural style that is both neoclassical and inspired by the banking architecture of its era. Once designed to embody solidity and security, essential attributes of a financial institution, it is now reinvented as an exceptional residence, comprising 43 apartments from T1 to T3 duplex, spread over 3 floors.
The façade retains the inscription “Banque de France”, an unchanging symbol of the building’s history. Its perfect symmetry and geometric rigour reflect the neoclassical spirit. Built in stone and enriched with sculpted decoration and ironwork, it asserts the sturdiness and solemn character of the edifice.
The project respects the morphology of the building by integrating measured and suitable interventions. The former vault and archive rooms on the garden-level floor are being converted into English courtyards or cellars, while others, kept as they are, preserve the testimony of the building’s original purpose.
The entrance hall, vast and imposing, has been preserved in all its splendour. Its mosaics, central glass roof and high ceilings make it a grand, light-filled passageway.
