At the heart of Charente-Maritime, La Rochelle enjoys an ideal setting between a small and a large town. Small, because you can get around on foot and the town keeps a human scale, with close to 80 000 inhabitants. It takes no more than a quarter of an hour to get from the Porte de l'Horloge to the Port des Minimes. Large in history and in economic, cultural and sporting dynamism. Economic growth is driven by port activity and tourism. Cultural life draws on a thousand years of history and magnificent monuments; it is also that of the Francofolies and the International Film Festival. Sporting activities are no less, with La Rochelle Rugby Club and all the maritime and water sports offered by the town and its surroundings. The Genette neighbourhood offers every local service for a most pleasant quality of life: several restaurants, numerous food shops, bakeries, convenience stores, butchers, fishmongers, a florist, a bookshop, nursery and primary schools, and a gymnasium. Only 10 minutes on foot from the town centre and the Old Port, where its many cultural, sporting and economic activities await you. Backing onto the historic "Les Acacias" villa, our residence extends between Allée du Mail and Rue de Godefroy; it is crossed by a lane that structures the space and the building entrances. Wood, white raw-earth bricks and other bio-sourced materials set the tone of these elegant buildings, which respect the architecture of Charente and the spirit of the Genette, dear to the neighbourhood's residents. Overseen by the Architectes des Bâtiments de France, the buildings' façades are rhythmed by openings, balconies and loggias, and take up the colour palette of the Villa des Acacias. The glazed doors are enhanced by retractable canvas awnings and timber joinery. The ACACIA residence offers different types of homes to suit every lifestyle. Apartments overlooking the Mail, single-storey houses with gardens, and also unique architect-designed houses over 3 levels with a private lift. The high-quality finishes, the support of an interior architect, the shared areas and the generous outdoor spaces have all been designed down to the last detail for the comfort of future residents. ACCESS AND TRANSPORT BUS 4 fast routes (Illico 1, 2, 3 and 4) quickly serve the city centre. Around fifteen routes make it possible to travel across the 28 municipalities of the urban area. CYCLING La Rochelle and its urban area offer 230 km of cycle paths for sporting or leisurely rides around town, along the coast or in the surrounding countryside. BOAT The city offers two boat transport options: • The electric ferry links the Vieux-Port with Ville-en-Bois. • The "zero emission" sea bus provides the link between the Vieux-Port and the port of Les Minimes. AIR La Rochelle-Ile de Ré Airport offers regular connections to the cities of Lyon and Marseille. It also provides quick access to Brussels and Geneva, the United Kingdom (London, Bristol, Dublin), as well as Portugal (Porto) and Morocco (Marrakech).
