A building of character, a coveted address. In the heart of the remarkable heritage site of Nîmes, rue Nationale was for a long time the stronghold of Nîmes dyers, who had established their washhouses there since the Middle Ages. The property at no. 29 of this street consists of two buildings with inner courtyards. The façade facing rue des Orangers features window mouldings dating from the XVIIIth century, while the second offers a layout typical of the XIXth century. However, older architectural traces survive inside the buildings, dating back to the Middle Ages: remnants of segmental arches, springers of ridge ribs, and a lintel with an ogee arch. The spiral staircase at the centre of the block dates from the XVIth century. The whole will be preserved and renovated according to the rules of the art.
