TOWN OF HONFLEUR Honfleur is a French commune located in the Calvados department, in the Normandy region. A port town, it lies on the southern bank of the Seine estuary, opposite Le Havre, close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. Known for its Vieux Bassin, characterised by its houses with slate-covered façades, it has been depicted many times by artists, including Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Johan Barthold Jongkind, who formed the École de Honfleur. These painters and others contributed to the emergence of the Impressionist movement. Alphonse Allais and Erik Satie were both born on the same street in Honfleur. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD: 29 BIS RUE DU PUITS Set in a quiet, cobbled lane, rue du Puits is nestled in the historic centre of Honfleur, just a few steps from the Vieux Bassin, the place Sainte-Catherine and the art galleries. It is an authentic, history-rich neighbourhood where the artistic and maritime spirit of the town can be fully felt. Within 5 minutes' walk of shops, restaurants and museums; immediate proximity to the market and cultural events; a street full of charm: traditional stone or half-timbered façades; an intimate, residential, calm atmosphere, with preserved architecture and respected heritage. THE PROJECT The residence combines two types of elements: the half-timbering typical of the town of Honfleur and brick features reflecting a more recent era. The roof will be in natural slate. A few steps from the bustle of the town centre, the inner courtyard will be a genuinely peaceful and calm setting. Some apartments will benefit from a private garden. Comprising 10 homes, from studios to T2 duplex (19 to 45 m²), Le Clos des Arts is aimed at those who appreciate a refined aesthetic. The homes will benefit from high-end finishes and a fitted kitchen open to the living room.
