Situated at the confluence of the magnificent Durance and Névache valleys, at the foot of the Écrins massif and the Queyras Natural Regional Park, Briançon is both a mountain town and a town of history.
Perched at 1326 m above sea level, the fortified town enjoys a record 300 days of sunshine per year. Exceptional examples of mountain military architecture, its ramparts enclose the upper and lower towns, at the heart of which picturesque sloping lanes run past tall houses in Provençal colours.
Designed at the end of the XVIIth century by Vauban, the bastioned enclosure, whose seven fortified works punctuate the ramparts, alone justifies Briançon's listing as a "Town of Art and History": the forts of Salettes, Trois-Têtes, Randouillet, Anjou and Dauphin, with their remarkable architectural designs, follow one another. This page of history is best appreciated by strolling through the "Gargouille" (a picturesque nickname for the Upper Town). Closing off the top of the town, the Porte de Pignerol is a fine example. Then discover the sundials, fountains, frescoes and carved wooden doors, before pausing on one of the lively terraces of the Place d'Armes.
These two buildings, located at 12 and 29 rue du Temple, offer 7 apartments from T1 to T3 Duplex and 6 apartments from T1 duplex to T2 Duplex.
