PONTOISE: the town Located in the Val-d’Oise department in the Île-de-France region, Pontoise is a town known for its rich historical and cultural heritage, notably its magnificent Renaissance château, as well as for its warm, friendly and lively atmosphere. Pontoise is in zone A and is eligible for the Denormandie scheme Town of Art and History Once a source of inspiration for the Impressionist painter Camille Pissarro, this Town of Art and History offers fine views over the water and buildings dating from the medieval period, such as the Saint-Maclou cathedral and the château de Pontoise. An ideal location L’Ermitage is located about 30 kilometres north-west of Paris and is served by the Transilien H rail lines and the RER A and C lines. There are also bus routes linking Pontoise with Paris and the surrounding towns. The building is a few minutes’ walk from the Lycée Privé Catholique Saint Martin de France, from the Cergy Paris Université campus, and 15 minutes’ walk from the highly renowned Essec business school. The 3 Fontaines shopping centre is 10 minutes from the building. The Restoration Project L’Ermitage, located at 1 avenue de Verdun, currently forms part of the Saint-Martin de France school complex in Pontoise. This building, at the far western edge of the plot, was unoccupied and previously housed student and staff accommodation. Surrounded by a protected wooded area where construction is not permitted, it faces the Oise, which flows below the site. The project provides for the restoration of the entire building into 21 apartments: 5 T1, 12 T2 and 4 T3, together with 35 parking spaces, including 2 accessible to people with reduced mobility. A bicycle store is planned in the basement with direct access to the outside. Each apartment is sold with a cellar and one or two parking spaces fully integrated into the protected wooded area of the estate. To promote art, Conserto has joined the 1 immeuble, 1 œuvre charter, a Ministry of Culture programme that aims to bring visual arts to the widest possible public. Under it, each company commits to exhibiting one artist’s work in each of its privately owned buildings.
