In the heart of the protected conservation area, a touch of Italy, a hint of Provence. This is a building that could have been erected in Rome, in the heart of Trastevere. We are in Grasse, facing the Place aux Herbes, within the protected area. At the foot of the elegant, slightly coppery orange façade, an imposing double-leaf wooden entrance door. It is surmounted by a limestone entablature, a coat of arms and a curved moulded pediment. On either side, Tuscan pilasters. The Italian influence again. One enters here with curiosity and discovers the hall, the remarkable vaulted ceiling and, underfoot, a checkerboard tiled floor. It invites us to join a fine staircase clad in traditional Provençal terracotta tiles. In the apartments, terracotta tiles again, marble fireplaces and delicate decoration. Here, grace is spelt with a C. And a circumflex.
